Is a laptop cooler fan worth getting? I use my laptop gets very hot but it hasn't overheated before and i think it is getting even more hotter because the temperature is getting hotter (it feels hotter anyways). Should i get a cooler fan?

I have a laptop cooling fan, and it works great! But the core temp is actually not that much lower...? I have a really good laptop cooling fan that keeps the surface of my laptop (where my hands rest) relatively cool. I have Speedfan, and according to that, the temperature is a little high at some points (42 degrees Fahrenheit or so) When I unplug the fan, it's 40 and under most of the time. I have heard that plugging a fan into the laptop is redundant because it takes energy to power the fan, and therefore causing the laptop to work harder and become hotter. So basically, the laptop feels alot cooler, but the Speedfan temp says otherwise. Should I still use this fan?

how do u cool a laptop fan? i have a toshiba satellite a-205 series laptop and my fan gets really hot after maybe about 20 minutes of use if theres a program to help me out besides "speed Fan" Plz tell me!! THANKS!

My laptop overheats and shut down. Can I replace the cooling fan myself? My Toshiba Satellite laptop tends to shut down often, particularly when I'm playing a video or running a heavy-duty application. I can hear the fan whirring loudly before it shuts down. Just to be sure that it was an overheating problem, I have tried to run the same apps outside in cold temperatures and they seem to work fine. Is there any way I can buy a replacement fan and change it myself? Is that likely to solve the problem?

I rarely unplug it .? by plugged in, i am referring to the laptop itself as it is sitting on my desk. i currently do not have a cooling pad. do i use a c.pad only if am running the l.top like that, when it is unplugged from the wall outlet, or in both cases? thanks,everyone.
