Laptop Fan Problem resulting in heated keyboard?

I have a laptop that currently sits on an additional fan cooler, but however, my keypad gets heated up pretty quickly within half an hour, resulting in left palm resting on a hot surface. Is there a problem with the fan inside as I recently changed my motherboard due to a constant shut down problem ( blue screen error)
