do i need a driver for a laptop cooling fan compaq presario 2200 2210us?

2. I don't think there is a driver required for a cooling fan.
3. 20 years of experience...and i have never seen a driver for a cooling fan. Now...there are some "Smart" fans which can be controlled by the BIOS...but it is usually done by controlling the voltage.
4. I agree, although I only have a mere 17 years in the field of technology XD. There is no such thing as a fan driver. Any fan controls or sensors are probably already built in to the motherboard/systemboard drivers (or something similar). Have you tried using SpeedFan to monitor and control your fans?
