Is there a laptop heat-powered thermos flask out in the market?

i have a project to do. to innovate on a product. my partner and my idea is a a flask/cup-like thing that is able to keep the temperature high using the heat from a running laptop. anyone has suggestions to improve on this concept? or has anything similar been invented already?

  1. I would not recommend trying to power a heat source from a USB port. Devices with heating elements generally draw a large amount of current. Especially in the case of USB ports since they only provide 5 volt power. At this voltage, it will take a considerable amount of current to generate the wattage needed for a heating element. Most USB ports are designed to provide a small amount of current to power small electronic circuits. If you can find an efficient way to heat the flask while using a very small amount of current then you will be in business.
  2. I am an avid paruser of the Internet and of such unusual things and I have never seen one. The only problem I can see with this is if the flask or cup were to be spilled. There is great potential to spill onto the laptop and cause serious issues. I would advise you to carry on with your project and use a sippy cup type mouth piece that prevents leaking and spillage. If you use silicone like in the Nuby sippy cup design it should be able to handle the heat of a warm beverage. Email me and let me know how this goes. I am very interested!
