Laptop Heat

Does my laptop heat affect the performance ?

Hi, my notebook is Hp dv5 1030EE, if anyone owns / knows it, it's like an oven, amd processor makes it heat so quickly that my fingers hurt when I type (Cause of heat), so anyone knows if heat affects the system performance ? also can it damage my notebook ? and what to do to avoid that

  1. I was told it does, and ordered me a laptop cooler...I have a Dell Inspiron 6000...
  2. Next to liquid, heat is your laptop's worst enemy! Don't use it on fuzzy soft surfaces like a bed or couch, and make sure you're not blocking the air intake of the cooling fan with your leg!
  3. First off, be aware of where the fans on your laptop are located and avoid covering them. Its also possible the the fan motors are not functioning. Regardless of the cause, this can cause serious damage to your computer's hardware if not remedied, and yes, it can actually affect your computers performance as well.
  4. Heat and resistance of electron flow (Ohms) have a direct proportion: more heat = more Ohms. So the hotter any single component gets, the slower electrons move through that device (or component). The CPU generates loads of heat which is why 'overclocking' by additional heat sink methods (liquid cooling for example) are used. Cooler temps mean a visible, sometimes dramatic increase in system performance. Laptops can be cooled with dedicated cooling pads. Google for some examples. Also, make sure to blow out, and keep open any vents on the bottom and/or sides of the unit.
