- the air ducts are likely clogged, open up the cover from the top (keyboard comes out) and use some compressed air in a can to blow out the ducts. also while you're in there, make sure all the fans spin. if not, replace them.
- if you use it for a long time, then it the batterie will get warmer, so thats why it heats up. To stop this from happening...put it on stand by when not using it.
- I have an old Acer laptop that does the same thing, the air might not be circulating well enough through it to keep it cool.. . i went out and bought a cooling pad for underneath of it and it stops it from turning the fan on as often. Its just getting old :D
- Well there is probably too much dust in your laptop, which blocks the air circulation. You need to open your laptop and remove the dust, otherwise get your laptop serviced. Hope this helps.
- Don't sit it on a flat surface and keep the area surrounding the laptop open. I picked up an Antec laptop fan for $9.99 on a weekend special. It plugs into the laptop via USB and runs off the battery, however, I usually run my laptop with AC. The battery only gives me about 45 minutes. There is also a clear, plastic "EZ Lap for Notebooks" which, again, I got for $9.95 + shipping at Amazon. This is just in case I decide to hold the laptop and work off the battery. In my area we have about five competing electronic stores and their weekend specials are the first thing I look for.
